Hello everyone and welcome to my World Race blog!
My launch date is approaching and I wanted to share a little bit about what made me decide to go on this trip to begin with. So why is it that I chose to go on a 9-month missions trip?
This past year has been quite the year for my family. Through the stress of my parents’ divorce, my third knee surgery, and my father’s lymphoma diagnosis, there has been one constant. That is the peace and hope that the Lord has given me.
As my senior year of high school progressed, I was met with the question that every senior faces, “What’s your next step?” I prayed and prayed for guidance for my future, and felt pulled toward missions work. I stumbled upon the World Race through a friend of mine, and with much prayer and guidance from others, I determined that this was what God had in store for me.
Sharing the gospel and love of God with others is my primary motivation for this trip, as I hope to show them what it’s like to have the peace of the Lord, as mentioned in Philippians 4:7. I am confident that throughout this trip, I will experience growth in my relationship with God, and my ability to share the gospel will be forever improved. As I prepare for this trip, I’m reminded of how Jesus came to meet people where they were, not expecting them to be perfect, but offering them a relationship of abundance and love in their suffering. I am excited to share that love and hope with those who have not yet experienced it.
Preparing for this trip has put me through a rollercoaster of emotions. I’ve experienced so much stress, excitement, and many other bittersweet feelings. This preparation process has made me so grateful for the love and support of everyone around me. Thanks to you all, I am confident that I am ready to get out into the world and share Jesus’s love!
Stay tuned for more updates as I prepare to leave and arrive at training camp!
With love and gratitude,
Kaylee France
